CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CAROLINA SPORTS LIVE) — Panthers wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan is now listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Saints, the team reported Friday.
The rookie was added to the injury report Friday with a hamstring injury, but Panthers head coach Dave Canales said there’s still hope that he can get back on the field at home Sunday.
Canales is hopeful McMillan will be ready to play.
“Something popped up in practice, so you know we shut him down for part of it,” Canales told media. “We’ll look at him again tomorrow morning, though, just to make sure that he’s ready to go.”
McMillan has 41 catches for 558 yards and two touchdowns this season, second in the NFL among rookie receivers in yards.
Tight end Brycen Tremayne also is questionable with a hip injury, and offensive lineman Chandler Zavala is out (elbow). O-lineman Cade Mays and running back Rico Dowdle were cleared.
The Panthers (5-4) are looking to ride the momentum coming off an upset, last-second win in Green Bay last week, and have a chance to win five times in six games. Despite the win over the packers, Bryce Young threw for just 102 years, and McMillan was the leading receiver with 46 yards.
Meanwhile, the Saints (1-8) are tied for the worst record in the NFL and are winless on the road.
Carolina kicks off against New Orleans at 1 p.m. The game will be aired on Queen City News/FOX.
