Interesting player specific bets for Week 13
Welcome back to Week 12 of our new weekly series that we are bringing to you courtesy of our friends over at DraftKings Sportsbook. Here we’ll take a look at the most interesting—or riskiest—player prop bets each week for the Carolina Panthers.
Every week we try to steer you towards some of the safer, or wilder, bets that you can make on this team. With the Panthers well into their second losing streak of the 2023 season, and nobody on the team having a statistically significant season, there are slim pickings when looking for prop bets around Panthers players.
That said, we can expect a team with an interim coaching staff to simplify things and try to take the team back to some football basics. That means a renewed commitment to the running game and, in Thomas Brown’s case, more west coast passing concepts that will spread the ball around (in a successful version of a passing offense).
Rushing Yds
Bryce Young – O/U 12.5 (-115/-115)
Chuba Hubbard – O/U 44.5 (-115/-115)
Miles Sanders – O/U 27.5 (-110/-120)
The Panthers are, once again, favored to put up fewer than 100 yards on the ground. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a top ten rushing defense and two stout linemen up front who could give Carolina all kinds of headaches in Vita Vea and Calijah Kancey. On the other hand, their leading tackler, Lavonte David, is set to miss the game with a groin injury.
The Panthers are going to lean into their running game this week. Last week Young and Sanders both hit their overs, while Hubbard missed his by two yards. Sanders is likely to be de-prioritized in terms of carries with the departure of Duce Staley. Hubbard should make his over just on volume, while Young only needs one good scramble to hit his. I like both of those and Sanders on the under, if you’re looking to bet on every option here.
Eddie Piñeiro Kicking Pts – O/U 5.5 (-110/-120)
This may be more of a eulogy than advice. Piñeiro has been the victim of opportunity for the past couple of weeks, as the offense stalled more and more frequently after fewer and fewer yards gained. There is every chance the Panthers put together multiple scoring drives this week, but the over on Steady Eddie is no longer the safe bet that it once was.
