The Charlotte 49ers get ready to kick off their 2025 season on Friday night when they take on the App State Mountaineers in an in-state Group of 5 matchup in the Duke’s Mayo Classic from Bank of America Stadium. The Niners will be looking to turn their program back in the right direction under the direction of former Ohio Bobcats coach Tim Albin, while App State looks to do the same with the help of their new head coach Dowell Loggains.
On Thursday the Wes & Walker Show, Albin stopped by with the guys to discuss this game, why he took the job in the first place and why he made the decision to go with Conner Harrell at quarterback.
The guys also got the chance to sit down with athletic director Mike Hill on Friday, as they talked about the excitement surrounding this game, the excitement surrounding the program after the Albin hire and the renovations that are coming to Jerry Richardson Stadium.
