Welcome back to Thursday Night Football

Thursday Night Football returns this week with an NFC West rivalry rematch between the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers. All Thursday night games kick off at 8:15 ET on Prime Video.

As always in our brave new world of expansive sports gambling, it is now easier to bet on games than to watch them. You can catch current odds on all NFL games for Week 15 here on FanDuel.

Before the season began, this looked like one of the best Thursday Night Football matches in recent memory. Both teams have dominated the NFC under their current leadership and had presumably strong rosters. Instead, they are a combined 13-13 and are on the outside looking in on the playoff hunt.

The Rams have the healthiest roster and the easiest path to a wildcard slot while the 49ers are, and stop me if this sounds familiar, still trying to figure out what to do now that Christian McCaffrey is back on injured reserve.

It’s late in the season to be reinventing yourself and the 49ers didn’t even look that good when they had a healthy McCaffrey. Both teams are a little overdue for retooling their rosters, but the Rams have the best core as they currently stand. That’s why I’m picking the Los Angeles Rams to win tonight, so long as Matthew Stafford doesn’t retire before kickoff.

As always, use this space to talk about the action as it unfolds.

You know the drill.

This is now an open thread!
