WNBA prospect Sedona Prince was not drafted by a team during the 2025 WNBA draft, which took place Monday night, and it’s very likely her failure to be drafted was due to multiple allegations of domestic abuse and sexual assault, all of which the Texas Christian University basketball star has adamantly denied.

According to Page Six, Prince, 24, was projected to be selected as early as the late first round, but that didn’t happen. Instead, the 6-foot-7 center likely watched 38 athletes have their names called to join a WNBA team while her own name went uncalled. Of course, if she did watch, it wasn’t in person as Prince didn’t attend the live event because she wasn’t invited to, which means she was probably well aware the writing was already on the wall.

Now, all is not yet lost for Prince, but before we discuss her options, let’s examine how we got here.

From Page Six:

In February, the Washington Post reported that Prince had gotten into a physical altercation with a former partner the month prior.

TCU campus police reportedly responded to a call from Prince’s off-campus residence after the two got into an argument.

The women reportedly filed domestic violence reports against each other. They both “sustained minimal injury” in the incident, with Prince showing signs of a black eye while her ex-girlfriend had bruises on her arms and legs, according to police reports.

Six months prior, TikTok user Olivia Stabile posted a multi-part series accusing Prince of emotional and physical abuse.

Stabile, 23, claimed Prince had punched her chest and pushed her against a wall while they were vacationing in Mexico in 2024.

She also alleged that the basketball player shoved her off the back of a moving ATV and drove away.

Her videos garnered millions of views, leading Prince to address the allegations on her own social media pages.

“I have never abused anybody in my life,” she said at the time. “That’s not who I am, that’s not what I do, that’s not what I stand for.”

According to the Washington Post, two other women have also come forward with accusations of assault since Prince’s collegiate career began.

The first allegation dates back to 2019 when Alyssa Jimmie claimed the influencer had sexually assaulted her after a date.

Jimmie told the newspaper that Prince penetrated her with her fingers without consent while they were sitting in her car, which the athlete allegedly refused to unlock.

Another Jane Doe alleged that the former Oregon player had “forcibly kissed her” after a date in 2022 despite repeatedly rebuffing Prince’s advances.

Prince allegedly grabbed the woman’s hand and forced Doe to penetrate her.

Jane Doe’s lawsuit was later withdrawn, so, much like the other serious allegations, it didn’t result in any major legal trouble for Prince. However, the court of public opinion is a different beast; in that court, she has been thoroughly judged and largely convicted. (More on that in a sec.)

Page Six noted that “there is still a chance Prince could be invited to a team tryout or take her talents overseas,” but those are pretty dim chances for a star who had such a promising career.

Anyway, if Prince were looking for sympathy, she’d be hard-pressed to find in on social media, where the news of her going undrafted is largely being celebrated.
