See how they draft picks involved in the deadline deal that sent Johnson to the Ravens ultimately fell out

The Carolina Panthers traded Donte Jackson to the Pittsburgh Steelers a year ago for wide receiver Diontae Johnson. He immediately stepped up for the Panthers as their most talented and reliable wide receiver. However, he was not happy with the Panthers offense through the first seven weeks of the season, despite leading that offense with 30 receptions for 357 yards and three touchdowns.

The Panthers ultimately traded Johnson as the trade deadline approached to the Baltimore Ravens while swapping their fifth- and sixth-round picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. Those picks have now been made, rendering the trade complete.

Trade compensation for Diontae Johnson swap between Panthers, Ravens

The full results of the trade are as follows:

The Panthers received:

  • 2025 Round 5 (163): Notre Dame TE Mitchell Evans

The Ravens received:

  • Diontae Johnson, Wide Reciever
  • 2025 Round 6 (183): Traded

The Ravens traded picks 136 and 183 to move up to 141 and 178. At 178 they selected Western Michigan CB Bilhal Kone.

How did Diontae Johnson play for the Ravens

Well, let me tell you something. Jackson wasn’t happy in Carolina and he also wasn’t happy with the AFC Divisional-bound Ravens. He played four games, catching exactly one pass for six yards. He was cut late in the season and claimed by the Houston Texans.
