Carolina double dips at edge
The Carolina Panthers have sent picks 85 and 146 to the New England Patriots to select Princely Umanmielen, edge from Ole Miss, with the 77th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Umanmielen is an edge player with ideal size athleticism to play the edge in Ejiro Evero’s defense. He finished in the top ten in all combine testing for edge players except the 40-yard dash. His 10.5 sacks as a senior are exciting, but so were his years of progress as a growing player at Florida in the years before transferring to Oles Miss. Umanmielen is a guy whose game is still growing.
He was Pro Football Focus’ 45th ranked player and was projected by them at one time to be selected by the Panthers with the 57th pick. This was great value for Carolina to pick up a player at a huge position of need, with a sky-high ceiling, in the middle of the third round.
