Leadership changes for the Carolina Panthers did not pay immediate dividends in the last week, as the team still fell to a less-than-frightening Tampa Bay Buccaneers team. The tour of the NFC South continues this week for Carolina as they will be visiting an even less fearsome New Orleans Saints team and their back up quarterback, Jameis Winston.
This is a very winnable game for a competent NFL team. As you might expect, very few people are picking the Panthers to win.
Elsewhere around the NFC South, nothing really matters. The Panthers have been eliminated from playoff contention after their loss last week. Technically, the 5-7 Bucs are playing the 6-6 Atlanta Falcons for the current lead in the NFC South. It is going to be a consequential game if your interests lie outside of the Panthers abysmal fortunes.
