(CAROLINA SPORTS LIVE) — Charlotte FC didn’t think the fine handed down to forward Idan Toklomati Tuesday was warranted.
The MLS Disciplinary Committee Toklomati for making an “inappropriate gesture” in the after the game-winning goal late in Charlotte FC’s 2-1 win over New England Saturday.
Following the set-piece header, Toklomati did a brief “twerk” dance, which was featured in a post on the MLS TikTok account.
After posting the fine announcement, FC’s X account quoted it with a meme from “The Office.”
It’s a two-part graphic showing Pam yelling “stop twerking during a match.” Michael then responds in the next picture: “You know what? I’m gonna twerk during a match even harder.”
The amount of the fine was not disclosed.
The win pushed The Crown’s winning streak to eight as they enter a two-week break before hosting Inter Miami Sept. 13.
